urgent advise needed

I am looking to travel to india with my expired GC,Passport and noa 1797 as my i751 has been applied for removal of conditions.Pls advise if it is necessary to have the passport stamped with I-551 stamp as my lawyer says this is not required.

Pls. advise asap as I need to travel urgently.
