Expiration date of replacement card

My green card is unusable, and it wasn't going to expire for another year. If I apply for a replacement, will the new card expire at the same time as the old one, or 10 years from issuance date? I don't want to pay the fees again in another year!

Go to your local USCIS office and get an I-551 stamp (valid for 1 year) on your passport. It is free.

But if I do get a replacement card, will it expire at the same time as the old/damaged card or 10 years from its issuance date? thanks
