A question regarding my lost Green Card

Dear Sir/Madam:

I have applied for the citizenship about 2 weeks ago and used a copy of my Green Card.

Now few days back when I was looking for the physical card, I couldn't find, It seems that I've lost my card ( although I have a copy). My question to you, is:

Do I still need to apply for the replacement, considering the fact that I'll have to surrender it any ways. Could you please let me know, I am really worried and don't know what to do?

Please let me know if you need my Green Card number.


I would really appreciate your help in helping me resolve this matter.

You don't have to apply for replacement card if you are not going to go out of US until your get your citizenship and US passport.
