expired green card

I am a permanent us resident and need to travel to Dublin Ireland on June4th to attend my daughter's medical school graduation and return on June10th.While applying for the visa I realized my green card has expired. Is there anyway to get temporary card or passport stamped as to my resident status in this short time. I would still need to get visa after that.Is it at all possible?
