I would be most grateful if you could answer some of my questions regarding my “reentry permit”.
I am a Swedish citizen who is married to an American citizen.
During the period 2003-2006 we lived in the US and I obtained a “permanent Resident card”. My husband then got a job in Sweden and we moved over here and I applied for a reentry permit (valid 04/04/06 to 04/04/08) The plan was (and still is) to move back to the US in a couple of years, but now my husband got extended at his work and we are planning on staying here (Sweden) for another 2 years. Now to my questions:
Can I extend my reentry permit? Or do I have to apply for “Returning Resident Status” whenever the time comes for us to move back to the US?
We are planning on going back for 3 weeks to visit family in June of this Summer, do I need to apply for any paperwork for this vacation? (My current “reentry permit” will then have expired….)
I really do appreciate all the help I can get on these matters!
