hi, we are GC holders. and my husband's US based s/w company asked him to work in its one of the branch in India for 2 yrs. So we apllied for reentry permit and we are done with the finger printing as well. and now we are in India. In these 2 yrs, my husband is in US pay roll. and we will be paying joint tax as resident of US. and we are given house there for rent. Basically we will be maintaining all ties in US. My question is can I work in India for 2 yrs? How does it work? Does it effect my GC? are we abandoning the status/law? I haven't started yet but thinking if it doesn't effect our GC and we will pe given re-entry.

Why can't I start working here in India? How they will come to know that I worked in India for 2 yrs during my reentry period exists? just curious to know.

... it's best to tell you to do anything you like. Go ahead, be happy.

There are a lot of things that the authorities may not know about. However, if these come to light anytime, repeat anytime then even if one is an USC, they'll rescind one's citizenship.

Bud the best wasy is to be back in USA every time before 6 months for 1-2 weeks.
If you stay outside for more then 6 months then you need reentry permition.

If you gate reentery permition will be lost the time which you did collectet when you staed in usa to be able to apllay for citisenship.

I spend 2 years out uf USA with my husband workin in EU and ME, bud I when back in USA every time before 6 months for not longer then 1-2 weeks.

About working you have right to work bud have to be in family acount. Anyway you dont pay taxes when you work outside the usa.

So beter dont mess with gaverment when it come to taxes.
