marriage under vwp

hi there,

I have found some great into on this site but would like to know some specifics in relation to my particular query.

I am going to the states under the vwp visa waiver program, visiting a female acquaintance. it is possible that while i am there we might get married.
Should this happen i would be applying for the permanent resident status. However i would need to return to my home country soon after our marriage to sort out my belongings and close up bank accounts etc.
is it possible to then return to the states soon after again to rejoin my wife, while waiting for processing.
Any idea how long the procedure takes for permanent residency to process or the employment authorisation to come through as i would need to start supporting myself.

Any help or info on this topic would be greatly appreciated.

You can not do that. It is a fraud. You can not enter the USA with the intention of getting married and adjusting your status using the VWP.

You need to apply for a K1 visa.

Thancks for reply but i am aware of this and my intention isn't to go there and get married but yes there is a possibitity of this happening and i do want to be knowledgable of any situation that may arise and the situation stated may very well arise.
