Rentry of a GC on Visitor visa

Thanks for this excellent facility...really appreciate. I read a lot of posts and some great advise.

My problem: I have a GC valid till 2010..I came to India and got married and settled in India for last 4 years. My brother has GC in US and I have bank A/c's etc still.

I wish to stay in India and visit my brother and operate my a/c's etc. I know my GC status is no longer valid, so can I apply for visitor visa and travel. Will there be problem in getting a visitor visa for me & my family ?
Will I be able to get GC later in my life if I wanted to (ofcourse by following the procedure)

You can try for a visitors visa. Whether you can get it or not really depends upon the specifics of your case.

Yes, you can of course apply for greencard again in future, if you qualify. You will have to do all the procedure all over again.

Thanks for your advise. Wanted to check do I have to go and turn in my GC and then apply for a visitor visa or I have to go for a visitor visa straight away...also what happens to my bank a/c's and social security number etc..
