Hello,
My mother-in-law was granted green card a couple of months ago, courtesy of her daughter who is a US citizen. At the port of entry when she came over last month, green card was stamped on her passport and told that she'll get the physical card in 6-9 months time.
Questions:
Can someone tell me if 6-9 months is a valid estimate or is it at the higher end? Any info based on recent experience / timelines would be appreciated.
Can she apply for I-131 (Application for Travel Document aka re-entry permit) w/out getting the phsical green card? Apparently the form requires A# and she's saying there is no A# stamped on her passport. Thoughts/comments?
Thanks in advance
