I'm hoping that you gurus will be able to provide some information regarding my situation.
I recently was laid off a few months ago and now I've been offered a tremendous opportunity to work in the UK for a US based company. I have a US Greencard which I don't want to lose but I can't pass up this opportunity either. I plan on applying for a Re-entry permit. However I'm not sure how long I will be away from the US. Here are my following questions:
- Can I leave the US before I get my re-entry permit? How long does it typically take to get the permit?
- Can I apply for naturalization while I'm on my re-entry permit i.e. I want to apply before I leave the US.
Any comments or information you guys can provide would be great.
