I am a b-tech student in India. After the completion of 3 years of education in India, I came to US on sep-01-2008 as my father is applying for green card and I am under 21.
Now I have my green card.
For the completion of my final year and to attend some mandatory exams, I need to be in India from march 2009 to june 2010.
I learned that, I couldn't stay outside US for more than a year, but I have to. I also learned about re entry permit and form N470, but they are for employees who need to stay outside US for more than 12 months and not for Students.
What is the way for permanent residents to study outside United States for more that a year, without tampering their permanent resident status.?
Please help me.
