Re-entry Permit Question

Hello there

I'm currently living in uk for the past 3 years since 2005 and have permenant visa for uk. i also hold green card for usa which was given in 2006 and i have visited usa twice after that. than i applied for re entry permit which was approved for 2 yr so now i do not need to revisit usa till march 2010. but as i m a nursing student in uk i only get 4 weeks summer holidays each year and i would like to know if there is any way that i can apply for reentry permit for another 5 yrs from 2010 so i dont have to visit usa every year to keep my card renewed or is there any other visa which allows me to keep greencard valid and my status as permemnant resident in usa without having to visit the country every year.

I have heard that people said in my case it is best to get visitor visa instead of me keep visitng every year but i dont know if that would affect my green card status or my residential status as i do not have any sufficient knowledge about visitor visa ( if you do hae any info abt visitor visa can u pls kindly send me the link so i can read about it )

You can't really keep your green card for a long time if you don't really intend to stay in the US permanently. Read https://www.immihelp.com/retain-greencard-useful-tips/

Merely visiting for a short period every 2 years is not enough.

If you don't plan to stay in the US, you should withdraw greencard and apply for visitors visa so that you can come at any time.

Thanks for ur quick reply i do appericiate it....i m intending to move to usa when i finish my graduation here ( as i have started my graduation in uk which is for 3 years an i do not want to move to usa without graduation as i might have to repeat/do some xtra courses there to be able to finish my graduatuon in usa) can u pls provide me any information on how i can apply for visitor visa and if i get visitor visa do i lose my greencard???

You can't really get visitors visa when you have greencard. You can have only one thing.
