I got a lottery green card in May (passport stamped with the IV visa 29/May 2008, expiring 28/November 2008), and I went to the States on 1st August for one week for an interview and got fingerprinted and admitted as a Permanent Resident. In the meantime, I've been back in my home country as the start date of the job I got hired for got moved forward to June 2009 due to budget cuts within the NY Board of Education.
My pressing concern is that the visa on my passport is now out of date (expiry 28/Nov) and needs to be renewed in person in the States according to what I have read.
Will I run into difficulties when I next go to the States because of this, do you think? Or is there something I could do from here?
