  • Domestic Violence and Conditional Residency

I am currently holding a Conditional Green Card through my wife. I have been arrested twice for domestic violence, held overnight and released without charge. First time both me and my wife got arrested for pushing each other. Second time, I got arrested for grabbing her chin to which I admitted to the cops. I neither had to go to court nor see a judge. My conditional residency expires in 1 and half year. I only recently discovered the possible consequences and am loosing peace of mind. Does any one have any knowledge or experience with what to expect upon renewing my green card?

    Thanks.

You are not guilty unless proven so. However, you admitting to a CIMT may be a problem. However, as you were neverr charged, the arrests have to be disclosed during your removal of conditions.

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.
