does a green card holder requires Student Visa to Study outside INDIA?

Hi ,

I am on Green card and my child is seeking to study outside India ? does a person requires student Visa to study aborad ?

1) if Yes, for medicine - are there any special requirements?
2) How long can a person stay outside India ?
3) what are the ways to maintain green card continuity ?
