  • I-90 Issues

Hi guys. I really need help with the I-90.

Since I turned 14, I left the country twice and when I re-entered the second time (I was 5 months away from my 16th birthday), they told me that I had to get a new green card. I haven't left the country since then, but I have slacked off on getting the application filed. I applied for the green card selecting the "Over 14 Years of Age" option (When I turned 17) with $80 and it got sent back saying that the fees were inappropriate. I applied again choosing the same option but sent a check for the full $370 and that got sent back again. The return form also said something about not being able to apply since it's passed the time frame after my 14th birthday, and I'm older than 16.

I really don't know what to do now. I called the USCIS helpline but the receipt number they sent back was invalid so I couldn't get connected to a customer representative. This is my second to last option, after this, I'll just have to go by the USCIS office in town and ask them what the heck is going on.

I am on the same boat

how did you sort this out?

Please see my thread "Green card renewal application returned, need help "

I sent my son's Green card for renewal and it has been returned today along with my personal check for $370.
My son is now 16 Years and 4 months , he got his Green card in 2001
I could not renew his GC when he reached14 years old.

In the I-90 form, I had marked "g" in part-2, question-2. That is " I have reached my 14 th birthday..."

There are two reasons given for the rejection:
      1. The check amount is incorrect ( I enclosed a check for $370)
      2. The applicant marked "g" in part-2, question-2.

Not clear what mistake I did.

Should I have enclosed a different amount check?., if so how much?
Should I have marked "f" in part-2, question -2, "my present card has an expiration date and it is expiring" ( the actual date for expiry is 2012) or should I have marked something else

Can you all please provide your valuable advise?

      Thanks in advance,
      Punyavan Babu
