First Entry to USA with Newborn Baby

Dear All,

We are a couple, both have Green card for 1 years. We have a baby, he was born outside of USA 4 months ago. Now we want to bring the baby to USA first time. We already know that we can bring in 2 years. Do not need visa etc.

My question is that I was told also have read in some other experiences that baby cannot leave USA without having a green card and we have to wait his green card process in the USA. For adults, normally you get a stamp on your passport at POE and leave or come during 1 year.

Has anyone knows or have experience on that?

Do we have to wait baby's GC in USA, can't we just go there and can go out of USA 2-3 weeks later

Hi,
I was in the same situation with my baby. I took the baby with me but it should not take longer than 2 years since the baby was born. When you arrive in the US you will need to have all papers like: baby's passport, birth certificate, one picture and your GC. You will be registerd at POE for baby's GC than you will have to wait arround 6 weeks until you will get baby's GC by mail. First you will get an official letter informing you the A# number. This will be the case number. In case it will take more than 6 weeks you can contact USCIS and they can give you more information about the case. I got baby's GC it in less than 4 weeks.
Baby can not leave the country without the GC.

Travel Document

Did you happen to carry any travel document from US Consulate to help transit boarding, and the airlines or local immigration? Want to know are these people aware of the rules.
