  • Leaving the country for more than 6 months/green card

I would like to know what happened if I am a peminent residence and I leave the U.S. for more than 6 months? What is the law in this regards? Do they know at the airport that I have been outside the U.S. for more than 6 months? Where can I find more information about this topic?

    Thanks in advance

Let me add something to that question which is also not fully clear to me. Is the day of leaving the U.S. considered a day in presence in the States or not? On the other hand is the day of the arrival in the U.S. considered a day spend in the U.S or not? I know it is tricky, therefore I ask about that. Thanks.

Yes, they will know at the airport how long you have been out of the country.
