Did anybody ever got a Returning permanent visa (SB-1 visa) to America? It’s granted when you stayed outside the USA for more then one year and hadn’t apply for a reentry permit in advance before you left the States. I know I can be qualified for it, I just want to know what my chances are. I head it's really hard to get. What forms did you fill out? Are those DS 117 and DS 156? And how it’s gonna impact my status as a permanent resident? Will I have to file some additional forms on my arrival to the States or appear before an emigrational judge to preserve my status? What else can I do now when my stay outside of the USA is 11 months, not one year yet? Should I at least call consulate to let them know that I am not intended to abandon my residency and willing to apply for that kind of visa later. Is it going to help me in the future? Thank you in advance.

sb-1 visa approval
hey, i did get approved recently, but they asked for an i-134 (affadavit of support) for the second interview. i couldn't get this document, so didn't get it anyway. the sb-1 is the start. it's kind of expensive also. first interview Rs. 20,000 ($400), 2nd interview again Rs.20,000 ($400). plus after this one hs to keep in mind the air travel and living expenses there (if you do not have a job there that is).
I'm not pursuing it anymore as it is cheaper to get a tourist visa in future. Also, can't afford it now.. may be different for you, depends on the stituation.
Good luck!
