Hello,
My mother (74 years old) received her Green Card in 2005 when she visited me in US. She left in April of 2006 back to home country- Ukraine and never come back because of health issues which she will never will be able to afford here and plus she has a house, daughter and grandson there. Now she wants to come and visit me here in US for few months( just once it's getting hard for her to fly). She doesn't want to live in US. She went to Embassy in Kiev to apply for non-immigrant visa and was denied because they said she has a Green card. What will be the appropriate steps in this case:
1.Abandon her lawful US permanent resident status (see I-407 form) and then apply for non-immigrant visa?
2. Use Green Card and come to US with docs proof of surgeries she had. What are the chances they will let her in? Can US custom send her back?
3. What are the chaces if she file I-407 form they will give her non-immigrant visa?
