Green card / Visa Requirements

Dear USA Embassy

I am writing on behalf of my sister, who does not have access to email but has questions she would appreciate answered.


I have a valid Green Card until 01 / 03 / 2012. However I have been out of the USA since Nov 12th 2007.

Can I re-enter the USA using my green card or do I need a Visa / Visa Waiver as I am booking a flight for 23rd November 2009?

I have been resident in the USA since 8 / 31 / 1975 and all three of my children are American citizens and resident, married and with families in the USA .

Many thanks for your advice. My sister has read it and only has a couple more questions.

Since I have probably lost my green card privileges having been out of the country for more than 2 years,

a) What kind of visa do I need for a 2 week visit?
i.e. a special immigration visa or a tourist visa?

b) since my three children all live and work in America and I intend returning to work there at some point, how do I go about renewing my Green Card?
