  • Green Card of USA and indefinite leave to remain of UK?

    Hi All,

I have a very unique situation.

I hold a Green Card and I am also now eligible for 'indefinite leave to remain' of the UK as my husband is a UK Citizen.

Can I apply for the 'indefinite leave to remain' of the UK and have the Green Card at the same time or will having the 'indefinite leave to remain' of the UK be a problem to my having a Green Card.

Please advice as I am eligible to apply for 'indefinite leave to remain' in the UK in the next couple of months.

    Thanks.

If you leave the US indefinitely, you are not a "permanent" resident of US. You will lose your GC. Read about re-entry permit for the max allowed period outside US.

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.
