Hi Dear,
I am a LPR since March of 2000 and came to my country in 2006 due to my mother's illness and decided to stay 3 more months. When I was ready to return to the US I was diagnosed with Colon Cancer, at that time I didn't have a job and neither health insurance, didn't seem good idea to seek help in the US without insurance, so in June 2006 I was admitted for treatment by INCA ( Brazilian National cancer institution). I went through a successful although long treatment. Now I need to return to the US. Since my Green Card has its expiration date due on March of the present year. How should I proceed? Applying for a re-entry visa at the local American Consulate in Rio would be good enough or other options should be more advisable in my case.
I have an eight year old daughter born and living in US soil that needs some of my attention and financial support.
Thanks for opportunity to consult with you,
