Can I travel the month my greencard will expire?

I started the process to renew my 10 year greencard last summer. I still have not received a new one. But I was hoping to travel this summer. In July to be exact. When I went to renew my greencard I got a sticker on it stating that the card will expire July 2019. No exact date. Would I be able to travel to my home country during the month of July?
I am trying to get an appointment on the infopass website for weeks now but nothing is ever available. Any advice?

Mine is about to expire by August. I will be traveling by July and will be back in 4 days time before my GC expire. Did you call them or ask?

I traveled to Carribean island without problem. But my trip was short 5 days. I went to the Bahamas. It is really good place with beautiful beaches and warm ocean. Plus friends suggested me to rent catamaran.
