I lost my green card! Advise pls?

I lost my green card at the airport. So I am really in panic.
After I got home I realized my green card was lost.
My green card will be expire this month of August 10th. I filed it before I have already receive a paper notice (I-797) Thanks God.
I did email and called the airport and still waiting for their reply.
I am thinking to file a Police Report right away in any case that somebody might use my GC.
I am thinking also to file for the replacement but it is $540.
Is there anyone that has been also lost or missing Green Card experiences? I am so panic Please advise me. TIA.
