  • orm i-407 - ex wife to abandon

I have been divorced now for over a year and my EX WIFE and children live in the UK.

My ex wife plans on abandoning her green card(i-407) because she has no intentions of living in the US, my son (he is 9 years old) lives with her so his should automatically be abandoned (she will also return it via post)

Before she and my son abandon the cards / status, I want to make sure that this does not affect my own green card.

I live and work here in the USA. I assume that it will not affect me, but I want to be sure there are no additional steps.

    Any thoughts?

No, it does not affect you, if you are already a permanent resident.

I didn't think it would affect me but the concern I had / have is that the application was for the family to get green cards - so if two are removed does it cause issue for me?

I am aware that the cards all have unique numbers.

No. The moment each person entered the US and became permanent residents, their permanent resident status does not depend on anyone else's.
