green card activation trip/ back to home country for a period

Hello.
I am a dv2020 green card lottery winner. When i applied for the green card my life was different. So, i don't want to move to Usa right now. I would like to question if i could continue the process for the green card, go for a journey in USA for 1-2 weeks, take the green card and activate it, and to move to Usa after 2 years? For example to go for the activation trip in summer 2020 and to move back to summer 2022. Is this possible?

You can come in get your green card apply for a rentry permit and then can leave for upto 2 years. You will need to do boimetrics for your re-entry permit.

You need to enter, apply for a "re-entry" permit while in the US and only after having that approval document in hand, can you leave the country for an extended period of time.
