Can my wife lose her status by visiting Mexico?
Last year my wife obtained her Green Card and Social Security Card. For the last few months we have been staying in Mexico. I was told by somebody, that she cannot be out of the country for more than six months, or she will lose her immigration status. She wants to become a U.S. citizen. Is this six-month rule true, or was someone giving me incorrect information? 
Please help as if she must return within 6 months, she must go back within 12 days. Time is running out. She has been taking care of me as I have been very ill and I am receiving medical treatment here in Mexico. If she must return, what documents must she show upon landing in the U.S. - her Green Card? I don't know if someone is giving me misinformation or if I really need to get my wife back quickly to the U.S. Pleas help!
