  • Working Aboard on a Green Card

    Hello All,

I am a US Citizen and my wife a 2 year Green Card holder. I was recently offered a great job opportunity in Asia, while my wife would work as needed. Our positions would be temporary two year contracts. We have a couple of questions:

If she got a reentry permit but also returned to the USA every 4-6 months what level of risk would she be of "losing" her Green Card?
What steps would be recommended to maintain residency? Owning property? Renting?
When we apply to remove conditions on her GC, do we need to be physically in the USA?

If you guys file I-131 reentry permit for that duration, I bet it will be fine. No.risk of loosing her GC.
