Hello there
I got recently my green card, EB2 NIW. I self-petitioned myself under category of a researcher (physicist). I am currently a post-doc.
I genuinely wanted to stay in Academia and get a faculty position. I thought I had a chance with my publication record. It appears things are much more complicated than I expected.
While I am still trying to get a research position in both academia and industry it is very well may be that I will become a data scientist which is not the field I petitioned under.
What should I do? People say that I should stay working as a post-doc for at least 6 month and then I free to go. Is it true?
