Re entry permit renewal -but corona

My mom's re entry permit is going to expire next month and we were originally going to fly to the US last month but with the corona outbreak we decided it would be best to just wait until things have calmed down a bit..(yes we know we can enter the US but we just don't want to RISK getting corona) we hope to fly in the summer but will they let my mom in? her GC is valid but her re entry permit isn't...any advice?

These are uncharted times. No one has an experience about this. You can try for an SB2 visa if you let the re-entry permit expire or just fly back with the valid green card and take your chances at the airport.
