Can a permanent resident enter the US without a green card but using a combo card?

I visited my sick mom with an emergency parole for 30days. I came within the time period and received my combo card which is valid for a year without any conditions. I also got a "paroled" stamp on my passport nearly valid for an year when I entered with the parole document. I went back to see mom since she was in the hospital half of the time when I initially visited her. Within that time my case got approved and they mailed me my green card to my wife. Now I plan to go back to the States. Can I use my combo card for re-entry? Is EAD/Advance parole terminated once you have been approved for permanent residency?

    Thank you!

Yes, you can return to the US on your AP, and the officer at entry can see that your case is approved and admit you as a permanent resident.

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.

newacct Thanks. Do you have any experience traveling like that or know someone who has done it?
I am very confused because my lawyer told me my EAD/Advance parole is terminated upon approval of conditional/permanent resident status, and if I knowingly misrepresent my status it can be considered fraud and found inadmissible

That is what my immigration attorney said when I asked a similar question. If the status has been terminated and you try and enter the U.S., you wouldn't be misrepresenting yourself but trying to enter the country without the appropriate paperwork. CBP may admit you or they may not. You may also run into problems boarding a plane as travel documents are cross-checked and if it has been terminated, they won't let you board the aircraft. The way I see it, you have 2 options: 1) get someone to mail your card to you or 2) apply for a Travel Letter from the U.S. embassy.

          I agree with newacct.
You can re-enter with your AP/EAD card and when you get to immigration, let the officer know that your greencard was approved while outside the US. The officer then
          1. Admits you as a Permanent Resident
          2. Admits with Deferred Inspection. This means you will need to come back at a later date and show them the greencard.

No, you won't be mis-representing yourself as the AP/EAD was for the same pending I-485 that just got approved.
