I-751 interview

Hi everyone-I filed For the removal of conditions last April. I just received a notification stating that we are scheduled for an interview. I have heard that if this happens, then there is an issue with our application. Can anyone confirm this? Is there cause for concern? Should I hire a lawyer?

newgradgirl Hi, I hope everything is going well on your end. If I recall correctly, you did not have any issues when you filed your I-485 and later attended your interview. I do not think that you should be concerned. That is not to say that you should not be prepared to provide updated evidence of bona fide marriage.

You should know that USCIS selects a few cases randomly for interview; i.e., they select cases to interview randomly and it does not mean that there is a concern or potential issue with the case. It is possible that they selected your case randomly for interview. I would just make sure to bring updated evidence to the interview.

By now, you are also eligible for naturalization. Did you apply for naturalization? When people file for naturalization, and there is a pending I-751, that often times prompts an interview - actually, 2 interviews back to back.

Last but not least, sometimes the status changes to "scheduled for an interview" and eventually, USCIS waives the interview and then, adjudicates the case.

I would just be ready either way. All the best,

newgradgirl I like to think positively lol i feel thats a good thing because usually that could mean that after the interview they will send your green card right away.
