Has anyone had issues when traveling/coming back into the United States using the extension letter? You feedback will be appreciated as I intend to travel for an important family function. Thanks in anticipation.

hi, I had absolutely no problem. airlines know what extension letter is so check in was a breeze. I have global entry so it took me 30 seconds to enter United States. no questions askedComment

You can travel with I-751 petition receipt notice( It is also called as Extension letter). But, Please make sure to have below mentioned documents when you travel and return.
1. Valid passport
2. Expired Green card document
3. Unexpired I-797C- Receipt notice( Normally, It will be valid 18 months)

Hi, I don’t even scan green card anymore. I probably only did it twice after I got global entry. GE machine already knows it’s me - it scans my face and gives me a receipt. I only had my extension letter looked at when I was checking in for the flight. Basically your new green card expiration date is your current exp date plus 18 months. So mine was expired on June 25th 2021, for the flight I put December 26th 2022.Originally posted by BayAreaCaliAOS View Post

I have global entry as well. It’s a breeze coming back in the US.

1/28/19 -case has been accepted
2/9/19 - Fingerprint review was COMPLETED on I-765 and I-485
2/12/19 - (I-485) Case b • 10/4/19 - Interview cancelled
10/19/19 - Interview was scheduled
12/3/19 - Interview completed!it
12/9/19 - New card is being produced
12/10/19 - i485 and I-130 case was approvedComment
