I just came out of an N-400 interview with a pending I-751 at LIN processing center.

I brought my husband to the N-400 interview in case they wanted to do a combo adjudication.

When it was my turn to be called in, my husband was told to stay in the waiting area.

I told the IO while we were walking to her office that I brought my husband because of a pending I-751, and she said that some other IOs would require the spouse to be present in cases of a pending I-751 but for her, she said she will process the N-400 and if I pass it, she will review the I-751 and approve it without the need for another interview.

The interview went well, citizenship questions, yes and no answers, confirmation of personal information, and then I got a paper that I have passed the naturalization exams and I am approved for naturalization, however the oath taking will have to be scheduled because she needs to approve the A-file for the I-751 first.

She said to watch for the mail on the oath-taking ceremony.

    Almost there.

    Cheers,

Updating the thread for LIN filers.

We have now received a NOA that our I-751 has been moved to NBC.

For context, we filed for N400 in July this year got through an N400 interview last month successfully, but did not get to take the oath for naturalization because of the pending LIN ROC.

We originally filed AOS at NBC and it looks like we're in for another waiting period.

      Happy holidays everyone.

      Cheers.

thats really annoying, you past the test for n-400 and still waiting for the i-751, couldnt they approve both at the same time? wasnt your i-751 was pending?

The USCIS adjudication process for N-400 with a pending I-751 seems inconsistent. I have read scenarios all over the place:

          1. N-400 interview with a pending I-751, passed the interview without I-751 processing, sent to an oathtaking ceremony same day
          2. N-400 interview scheduled and I-751 documents reached local office in time for a combo interview, N-400 applicant brings spouse to the N-400 interview, gets both N-400 and I-751 approved same day, and sent to an oathtaking ceremony
          3. N-400 interview approved, pending I-751, no oathtaking scheduled until I-751 is processed

I am one of those in scenario 3.

          Cheers,

            Hello LIN Nebraska Filers,

Updating the thread that we have now been issued a USCIS Form N-4405 Notice of Naturalization Oath Ceremony for January 2023.

This would be a few days over 18 months to the day from the filing of I-751 Removal of Conditions via Lockbox and assigned to LIN Nebraska for processing.

This would be a few days over 6 months to the day from the filing of N-400 Application for Naturalization via Online and processed in Seattle, WA.

The journey is almost over and we are very grateful and appreciate all of you in this forum for keeping us company along the way.

            Happiest new year to everyone,

            😊

my case shows finger printer was taken for 585 days and no further updates. Tried to check with Emma, they just told me to wait . Anyone has the same situation? I am kinda worried it won't update even after the 24 months extend time. What should I do?

I filed removal of conditions on Apr 20 2021, its with Lincoln processing center and close to 632 days. I still have 3 more months before the 24 months extension expires. I created an inquiry saying its over their processing time , but got a generic reply and they closed inquiry saying they are working on cases based on when they received it .

did you use the calculator which is on uscis website for inqury , if you do inqury earlier then they usually generate this message. If it is really out of processing times it is little weird that they responded that way.

yeah i did inquiry using the calculator. Per Nebraska service center , their processing time is 19 months and clearly i am outside that window(My filing date was Apr 20 2021). It allowed me to create inquiry on Dec 17 2022 . They took their sweet time to respond the inquiry . They closed the inquiry on jan 09 with message like below. Its super annoying as it is a generic message without any insight why it was outside processing time. They don't have any tools or easy way to help with the case.

"U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) records show your case is in line to be reviewed by an officer. We ask that you allow additional time for this process to take place since we process these cases in the order received. If after 60 days you have not received anything in the mail, please contact the USCIS Contact Center at the number provided below."

I sent my 3rd case inquiry 2days ago. They haven't answered my questions yet. SRC anyway. The last 2 was the same response as #flyway1984

I tried to create one more inquiry. But the form doesn't allow me . it still thinks it has an open inquiry, in reality they closed the inquiry without providing any useful information. Not sure if I have to wait some more days to create another inquiry, or make plans to get infopass appointment (which is vague reading the sites on how to get hold of them to get one) to get i551.

                        Existing Inquiry Found

We have located a previously submitted inquiry with confirmation number ( SRXXXNSC ) for the same issue. You may not submit a new inquiry at this time. You can expect to receive a response to your previous inquiry within 30 days of the date your inquiry was submitted.

                          Hello flyway 1984,

I'm sorry this is happening to you. I know the feeling of helplessness in the face of constant brick walls.

I'm curious if you have considered filing an N-400 application considering that your I-751 has apparently fallen through the cracks?

There is a theory and my case will prove it, that filing an N-400 when qualified will get your pending I-751 out in front of the system.

I'm also curious if you have an online USCIS account where you can directly send a message of inquiry to them.

Hopefully this helps you consider your options.

                          Cheers,

Hey Gasp0214 , thank you still coming here and helping us with our situations.

When you do inqury directly from USCIS online account , what is the difference doing from USCIS website?
my i-751 transferred , i applied n-400 just 2 months ago and no update.. I know it is still very short time but i have seen people who are getting their interview less than 2 months..

                              Hi There,

I got an invite for an N-400 interview 3 months after I filed last year.

When you say "no update" how did you know your I-751 was transferred? I-751s get transferred likely because of your N-400.

Or do you mean that since you filed your N-400 you have not received: 1.) Notice of Action, or 2.) 797-C Notice of Receipt?

I know different USCIS centers process N-400s differently, I think after another month you should send a follow up on your N-400 via your online USCIS account.

                              Hang in there.

                              Cheers,

I applied for N400 on dec 30 2022. Per their site it will take 7 months for them to process this. On Apr 20 2023 my 24 month extension for i751 will expire. I might need to get i551 infopass sometime in feb/march 2023 .
