  • Get PR back after abandonment

I lived in the United States from 1998 until 2004 and I had a green card based in marriage to a US citizen. I relocated with my wife to Germany where I experienced quite some suffering because she was very abusive.

It went so far that she started attacking my parents and siblings verbally, writing the US Embassy in Germany and spreading lies about me. Well she threatened me I should never go back to the United States or she will make sure that I get arrested for things which she would make up.

Thinking about it I’m intending to move back to the United States in the future and even become a US citizen. Now the problem is I basically that I involuntarily abandoned my residency and I wonder if there’s any chance to even get my permanent residency back.

I got out of this mess 2 years later in 2006 by throwing her out and filing for a divorce in Germany.
