  • Lost Green Cards

We lost our green cards traveling abroad this summer. We got LPR's from the US embassy of that country and reentered USA.The LPR stamps on our passports have validity of one month.
I probably should have asked this question at the US embassy but are we supposed to reapply for our green cards now through form I-90 or will we get our replacement green cards based on the LPR process that we have already gone through?

You probably got carrier documentation that simply allows the airline to board you. Yes, you need to file I-90 to replace your green card.

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.

Thank you. Yes, it was carrier documentation that states that the holder is a lawful permanent resident of USA.
