  • I-90 form misplaced first and last name on green card. what should I do?

    Hi everyone,

Last year, I applied for I-485 to adjust my status through family, I-765, and I-131. Within a year, I received my Green Card (Conditional 2 Years) and EAD. Recently, I realized that my first and last names were mixed up on both cards. After reviewing the letters from USCIS, I discovered that my name was correct in the I-131 and I-765 notice actions but mixed up in the I-485. Also, my biometrics letter had my name misplaced, but I correctly filled out the "APPLICANT INFORMATION WORKSHEET" on the second page, and all other documents, such as I-94 Admission Record, Passport, Birth Certificate, K1-Visa page, and Marriage Certificate, have my names correctly.

Unfortunately, I didn't keep a copy of the I-485 form that I submitted, so I'm not sure who made the mistake. I have a few questions:
    1. Should I select the option in I-90 that USCIS made the mistake, or go with my name being legally changed and pay the fee?
    2. What will happen if I select the option that USCIS made a mistake, but they don't accept it? Will I need to resubmit the I90 again? Is it worth the risk?
    3. I need to remove the condition on my GC next year. Does it make sense to wait and do it next year?
