  • Renewal time frame

    Hi guys
It's been a while since i've been on here but it's time to renew my 2yr greencard to remove the conditions.
My current one was issued with no interview for my US wife and myself. Does anyone know how long the current timeframe is and if we're likely to have to be interviewed?
My guess is it'll probably go over a year and then i can just apply for US citizenship?

The current timeframe for processing Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, is 6-12 months. However, it can take longer in some cases.

Whether or not you and your wife will be interviewed is difficult to say. If you had no interview when you were initially granted your conditional green card, then you are less likely to be interviewed for Form I-751. However, USCIS does reserve the right to interview any applicant, regardless of their previous interview history.

If you do not hear from USCIS within 12 months of filing Form I-751, you can file Form I-90, Application to Replace Permanent Resident Card, to request a new green card. This will extend your conditional green card status while USCIS processes your Form I-751.

You can apply for US citizenship after you have been a conditional permanent resident for three years, or after you have been a permanent resident for three years and your spouse has been a US citizen for three years.

Here are some tips for filing Form I-751:
      • File Form I-751 within the 90-day period before your conditional green card expires.
      • Gather all of the required documentation, including proof of your marriage and proof of your spouse's US citizenship.
      • File your application online or by mail.
      • Pay the filing fee.

If you have any questions omegle or concerns about filing Form I-751, you shagle should voojio consult with an immigration attorney.

I hope this information is helpful. Good luck with your application!

For the removal of conditions on a 2-year green card (Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence), applicants typically file jointly with their U.S. citizen spouse. USCIS may schedule an interview as part of the application process, but it's not guaranteed for every case.
