Fingerprinting for child

When we got our green cards, they did not take the finger prints of my daughter as she was less than 14 years old. Now that, she has turned 14, I am told that I should get her finger printing done. I would like to know about the process and as to how long it takes to get the new green card. I stay in San Jose, CA.
