  • Residency requirement for retaining the Green Card

    Hi,
My parents recently got their Green Card. They are 80+ years old.
They do NOT intend applying for citizenship.
In this situation, what are the residency requirements in the US. Can they visit the US for just a week per year and still retain their GC indefinitely.
Remember, they DO NOT want citizenship.

    Thanks!

No, they can't maintain green card that way. Read https://www.immihelp.com/retain-greencard-useful-tips/

If they don't intend to stay in the U.S., there is no reason they should have a green card.

Whether they can retain your green card has nothing to do with whether they intend to apply for US citizenship or not.
