  • A Greencard question.

Hi, I just came to know that I have received my Green Card. However, I am not in the United states now and will be back after 10 days. Do, I have to leave the country today? Or can I re-enter USA using a valid Advance parole and continue with the formalities after I reach there.

    Please advice.

    Thanks

    Dipak

Your AP and EAD are not valid once you get the green card. I had asked these Qs to my lawyer a while back, please verify further.

If possible, get the green card mailed to you before entering the US. I guess this is going to be hard.

Ensure that the approval is mentioned to the immigration officers since the AP is no longer valid. There will be a secondary inspection upon which a temporary 30 day access will be allowed into the US. A subsequent visit to the airport with the physical green card and meeting with the customs officials would be required
