Addition of Spouse's name on Indian Passport!!

Hello,

I am a PR (conditional) and my husband is a USC. I did not change my last name after marriage. Is it mandatory for me to add his name to my passport? Indian passports have a 'spouse's name' section and American passports don't. While I know that this won't be an issue when we return from India after our upcoming holiday, will it be an issue at the port of entry in India?

Please Help!!
