Hi,
I have a couple of questions, I need your advice on.
1. My GC got approved early last month. However before that I had applied for my H-1b visa stamping, so I had to send my passport to Washinton before their closing data on July 16th. My passport just arrived this week (Aug 31st, Tuesday), and I took an appointment with the local INS office on Sep 10th for I-551 stamping and for applying fot the plastic. However that would be more than a month since my GC got approved by INS.
I heard from a friend, that waiting for more than 30 days to apply for plastic might be considered as abandonment of GC. Is this true?
2. The washington consulate stamped my passport with H-1B visa stamp (inspite of me sending a request for withdrawal the momemt I came to know of my GC approval). Is that a problem?
