I left the United States last May 2008 for a vacation here in the Philippines. I did not bother to file a re-entry permit because I did not think that I would be needing that since I did not have plans to stay here for more than a month. Anyway, I had to stay here in the Philippines from 2008 up to now because I had to take care of my sickly sister who was only five years old then. Our mother could not take care of her because she was working in the US during that time. My step father could not take care of her as well because he had to work. Prior to that, my grandmother was taking care of my little sister but she got sick and old. I was the only one left who could take care of her. Now, I want to go back to the United States. Is there are any chance that I would be approved for the SB-1 Visa?
When I left the US, I was a legal permanent residence with the intention of going back after a month. However, the only supporting documents that I have to prove my ties to the US are my 2010 and 2011 1099 forms and passport stamps. I did not file for tax return during those years though because I only earned less than $3,000. In addition, my mother and sisters are also in the US.
What are my chances of getting approved for the SB-1 visa?
Thank you!
