After a reentry permit...i'm going out for a visit again!

I was living in Spain in Mexico during 2 years. My reentry permit's expiring date was february 17th, and I entered to the US the february 15th. I'm inNew York right now. Tomorrow I'll take a plane to San Antonio, TX. And I'm planning to visit my wife and her family next day, in Mexico.

Can I leave the country for 5 o 7 days and come back? I have not a job in San Antonio yet, if they ask me, what can I say? Will I have any problems the day I cross the border? Cos i'm planning to cross it by car...

I have a home already in San Antonio.
