My mother has been granted her green card and needs to enter the US. However, she needs to return back to Asia for urgent personal matters needs and cannot stay for 5 months just right now to maintain her continuous US residency status.
We are informed that she can apply for a re-entry permit on an expedited case. However this would not help reduce the critical timeline from when she submits her documents for re-entry permit till when she is issued appointment date for her biometric finger print (which must only be completed in the US). We understand that as long as her biometric fingerprint is completed she can leave the US. We will be applying for her re-entry permit in the State of Maryland. Does anyone have a sense of how long it has taken from when the re-entry application is submitted till when the biometric finger printing appointment date is set?
