Hi,
I recently got a letter from USCIS saying that my Green Card is approved. However, I am in Turkey at present and plan to be here for a couple of years, for this I will be applying for the re-entry permit this month.
I understand that I will have to be physically present in the US for the biometrics appointment, I am willing to make that trip to the US, but I want to avoid spending so much time waiting for the appointment etc.
My question is
1) Do I have to be physically present in the US to mail my re-entry application to USCIS? I was wondering if it's okay to mail my application to USCIS from Turkey or I could mail my application to my family who lives in the US and they could in-turn mail it to USCIS.
2) My GC has been approved but I havent received the card yet. It should arrive by August 2012. Can I still go ahead and apply for the re-entry permit in July or shall I wait for the card to arrive?
