  • Is it possible to update DS-160 with the Interview location

    Hi,
For B2 visa, On the DS-160 form I have selected Chennai location for the Interview and submitted the form. When taking the appointment , based on the current residence, it is taking me to Hyderabad Consulate.

    1. Does it matter if DS-160 shows Chennai and Visa appointment at Hyderabad?
    2. Is it possible to update the DS-160 form to reflect Hyderabad Consulate?
    3. If not, Can we create a new DS-160 for Hyderabad?

    Thanks in advance

Yes. It is possible to update DS form until you take appointment. You can also create new one, but you can update in your case.

Thanks for the answers. How do I edit a DS-160 form that was already submitted.

When I try to retrieve the application, it says

"The DS-160 application you are attempting to retrieve has been submitted. Select an option below and click the "Continue" button." It has options only to view confirmation page or create a new application.

In the VFS website, it says there should n't be an issue if the interviewing post is different.
"The interviewing post you select at the starting of form DS -160 will also be accepted if you end up scheduling appointment in other post"

Please suggest if there is an option to edit the ds160 form. or should I leave the form as it is or create a new one?

The FAQ on the US consulate website makes it clear that picking your interview appointment in a different city won't pose a problem.
