What occupation is better to choose for sudent visa?

hello everybody.
I am considering to apply to New Zealand (or maybe Australia) student visa.
i have read recently that the cooks and IT people are on demand.
I have an overseas (Israel) cooking courses certificate and 7 years experience.
also graduated QA (Quality Assurance) courses ,got certificate,but don,t have experience.
The question is if somebody knows which one of them is on higher demand,and where is more chances to find
an employment upon graduation.which direction worth to choose?
......and,this one may sound a little unlogic ,but still ,maybe it,s known what ,s the chances normally for getiing the permanent
residence status if i will have some of local work experience.........?!
or where could i get such information....?!

I know only these

Student visa requirements include:

an offer of place from an educational institution approved by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority
a written guarantee from an institution or person that suitable accommodation is available to you in New Zealand (if you're under 18 years)
evidence of sufficient funds to live on while you are studying
a return air ticket to your country, or evidence of sufficient funds to buy one.

No mention about occupation, but for sure IT should be highly demanded. From the other hand certified cooking is also not bad background.
